Steve Walker
Family Ministry Pastor
Steve was born in 1964 in Washington State and married his high school sweetheart, Shari in 1983. Steve and Shari have two grown daughters, Ashley who lives in Lawrence, Kansas and Stephanie who lives in Washington DC. Steve and Shari enjoy spending time with friends and are huge Seahawk fans.
After a stint in the military and graduating from the University of Washington with a BA in Political Science, Steve entered into part time ministry in 1998 as a children’s pastor at their home church in Enumclaw, Washington and was ordained in 2007 on the Kansas City District. In 1991 Steve felt God calling him to full-time ministry and accepted a position as Youth/Children’s Pastor in Tacoma. Steve also served as an Associate Pastor in Topeka, Kansas and as a Lead Pastor in Carson City, Nevada. After a battle with cancer in 2003 Steve found the verse, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance,” (James 1:2-3) as his inspiration to live each day as if it were the last day to share the Gospel.
Steve loves to tell the Bible stories in ways that bring meaning to us today.
